Maggie – 20's – female |
To oversimplify… she's sad, dynamic, and likeable. Initially, she's too tired to be the likeable person she once was. As a relationship develops between Daylen and Maggie, they unlock the likable people hiding behind each others' lonely circumstances. |
Daylen – 20's – male |
To oversimplify… his likeable personality shines through in scenes with his brother (and eventually those with Maggie). He's trying to make his father happy through paying the bills and holding a steady job, but he's not satisfied with the way his life is turning out. He's looking for a connection with someone, but it's not easy for him. |
David – male – adult (between 25-70) |
A complicated character… He's instantly likeable, but he shows many tendencies of a sociopath due to a head trauma a couple years ago. His selfish nature hinders long-term relationships. He does conscience-challenging things behind people's back. His motivations for the kidnapping are completely wholesome (yet extremely misguided). |
Delia – female – adult (between 25-70 – feasible relationship) |
David's long-term common-law girlfriend… She's a surrealist painter who works all the time. She's a struggling self-promoting professional but hasn't found much success in the art world…she's living in Birmingham , AL (which will serve as Any-town , USA). She and David had a long, loving relationship, but after the head trauma, his personality changed completely. Thinking that he'll revert to his former self gets her through the tough times. She can't take it anymore and breaks up with David in the film. |
Myron – male – teenager |
---|
Daylen's brother. He's a pretty 'normal' teenager, and he wants to spend time with his older brother. Their mother recently passed away, but Daylen hasn't been around much. They have a great time together, but Daylen steers clear of the Gordon household with their demanding father. |
